The Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Brain Tumor Center was recently recognized by The Joint Commission and received its Gold Seal of Approval for Brain Tumor Certification.
This spring the Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Brain Tumor Center received the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Brain Tumor Certification. The recognition honors the program for rigorous standards, a collaborative approach, high quality healthcare delivery and safety, among others.
This Brain Tumor Center is one of only five centers in the country and the only one in Indiana. The impact on the community and patients and families suffering from brain tumors will be tremendous.
Dr. Charles Kulwin, Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine neurosurgeon and Medical Director of the Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Brain Tumor Center, led the initiative to create the center. In addition to Dr. Kulwin, Drs. Carl Sartorius and Troy Payner are specialists in brain tumor care. Goodman Campbell also has an extensive tumor management team made up of expert advanced practice providers. Our team considers the possibilities and perspectives unique to our patient population. Goodman Campbell physicians, researchers and healthcare professionals approach each patient with the desire and capability to provide the best possible care and outcome, making our providers at the forefront of subspecialized diagnosis and treatment of brain conditions, including the full spectrum of brain tumors. “The Joint Commission certification involved a rigorous, in-depth, independent evaluation of the safety and quality of our brain tumor program at this center. An outside, respected intuition known for quality assessment of hospital programs throughout the country has now verified that we provide high level brain tumor care. Patients, families and referring physicians can be confident in knowing that our patients are receiving the safest, best multidisciplinary brain tumor care possible,” stated Dr. Kulwin.
Goodman Campbell alongside the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation have partnered to host the Brain Tumor Support Network.
