Eric A. Potts, MD

Dr. Eric A. Potts is a board-certified neurosurgeon with specialties in numerous spinal surgeries and procedures. Dr. Potts obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and then earned his doctorate at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Maryland, followed by a spine fellowship with Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group, the predecessor to Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine.

Dr. Potts focuses his practice on treatment of spinal disorders. He treats all areas of the spine: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral. He is passionate about the use of cutting-edge techniques such as image-guided surgery and minimally invasive techniques. He is committed to quality outcomes and is an active participant in a national database, Quality Outcomes Database, from Neuropoint Alliance. He has published papers documenting the efficacy of spinal surgery.

Dr. Potts served as the treasurer of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves from 2020-2021 and is now an ex-officio member. As an innovator in the field of medical device design, he holds several patents for products that are commercially available worldwide. He is the chairman of neurosurgery at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital and is on the board of directors for Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine. He lectures nationally about cutting-edge spinal techniques.
