Interventional Neuroradiologists
Krishna Amuluru, MD
Krishna Amuluru, MD, graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in biomedical engineering, and received his medical degree from Northwestern University. He completed his radiology residency at Loyola University, followed by a pair of fellowships: first in diagnostic neuroradiology at Columbia University Medical Center, followed by a second in endovascular neurosurgical radiology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Prior to moving to Indiana, Dr. Amuluru served for three years as the medical director of stroke research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot. As an active researcher he has published on a wide variety of cerebrovascular topics, with particular interest in novel treatments of brain aneurysms, the prediction and management of vasospasm after aneurysmal rupture, and arteriovenous malformations.
Dr. Amuluru has published extensively in prominent biomedical journals, including recent publications in the Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery and Neurosurgery. He is also board certified in diagnostic radiology, and a credentialed neuroendovascular surgeon for the Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST) of the Society of Neurological Surgeons.
His personal interests include tennis and the arts—Dr. Amuluru was a nationally-ranked junior tennis player, and still competes in the United States Tennis Association’s adult men’s leagues, and his sculpted figures have been displayed in the Chelsea Art Museum in New York, among other places. In his free time, he enjoys visiting art galleries, museums, and travel.
